Review: Indie Lee Discovery Kit

indie lee discovery kit

Hi there! Today, i’m breaking down the Indie Lee Discovery Kit. Indie Lee is completely new to me post the event that I attended with clean beauty boutique, Bloom Beauty. You can see my event recap of that over here. When I was at the event for a mini facial, they had used Indie Lee products and I was super impressed! I’ve been using these products consistently for a month, so I feel like I have a good grasp of them now.

Indie Lee Discovery Kit

The kit itself contains ‘4’ products:

  • Brightening Cleanser
  • COQ-10 Toner
  • Squalane Facial Oil
  • I-Waken Eye Serum

The reason I put 4 in quotations is because the I-Waken Eye Serum is only a foil sample. Huge disappointment as I hate foil packets. Understand that if they were to put in a mini size, the price of this kit would probably be a lot more (currently $38 CAD). I was only able to use the foil packet around 3 times before it just got too crusty. I could have transferred it into another container, but ain’t nobody got time for that.

The Brand Indie Lee

Indie Lee is a clean beauty brand that promotes empowerment, education, and healthy living. The founders story is pretty incredible (which can be read here). After recovering from a rare brain tumour, she decided to start on her journey of wellness through the brand. Her main point is about focusing on the ingredients you put on your skin are just as important as the ones you put in your body.

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser

First up we have the cleanser. I LOVE this cleanser. This sounds so cheesy, but it just really made me want to clean my face. The texture is a lightly tinted gel that’s pretty similar to a lot of other cleansers on the market. A key selling point for me was scent. It smells like strawberries which was so pleasant. Even though the scent isn’t strong, it does linger. My skin ends up feeling clean and very refreshed after use.

COQ-10 Toner

Next up we have the Toner which strangely enough, my version says ‘lotion’ on it. I wonder if that’s a Canadian packaging thing? All the pictures I see of this toner say ‘toner’ on it. Strange. But moving on, I enjoyed this toner as well. It comes in a spray bottle and for such a small size, that addition is helpful. With that being said though, I did end us always just spraying this on a cotton round. What they said at the Bloom Beauty event was that using a cotton round helps to remove the gunk that the toner is helping to remove. Right after the cleanser, this really helped to just get that last mile of dirt off my face. It felt cleansing without stripping! Easy to integrate into my routine.

Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil

The Squalane Facial Oil is just that. Squalane Oil (one ingredient) which is derived from olives. Overall a very very nice facial oil. Throughout the month I’ve experimented with how much oil to use on my face. If I wanted a more deep down moisturized feel, I’d use the dropper directly on my face and blend in with my rose quartz facial roller. If I was going to be wearing makeup on top, I put a few drops in my hand and then patted on my face. I don’t use facial oils often, so I was surprised how easily I got on board with using one!

Indie Lee I-Waken Eye Serum

Now on to the eye serum! So as mentioned early, I haven’t had a long time to really use it at only 3 uses. In general, the times I used it, it was very nice. It was thick and moisturizing and felt very refreshing. Compared to other eye serums I’ve used in the past, it’s quite similar. In general I liked it, but wasn’t really able to test the effectiveness of product.

Overall Thoughts

In general, I’m very pleased with these products. In terms of noticing direct changes in my skin, I haven’t noticed much. I’ve gotten a few zits lately, but not sure if it’s from these products. Funny enough (and this sounds so crazy), I just really really enjoy using the products. It really does feel like a spa experience. They are super easy to integrate and just have a really luxe feel. So even if I can’t really say they’ve dramatically changed my skin, I throughly enjoy using these products.

In terms of price point, I think it’s worth it. I bought this at the Bloom Beauty event which I got a discount, but the $38 price point isn’t too out of the park.

Travel Sized Cleanser: $12.50
Travel Sized Toner: $12.50
Travel Sized Sualane Oil: $17.50
Full sized I-Waken Eye Serum: $62 (0.34 oz), foil packet (0.06 oz), 1oz is $182, foil packet is $10.94

Total: $53.44

With my experience on these products, I would definitely be willing to try more Indie Lee products. If you’re in the market for some clean beauty products, I would definitely recommend this kit!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
