Brand Collections: Kosmea Skincare

I feel like I’ve been trying a lot of skincare lately, but I ain’t mad!! Back in the spring, I was sent some products from a brand I had never heard of, Kosmea. Kosmea is an Australian natural skincare brand that was built on the healing properties of rose hip oil (which is included in the products I was sent to try). I cant wait to show you my thoughts on four products from the line!

Clarifying Facial Wash

Let me start with the face wash. The Kosmea Clarifying Facial Wash is described as a gentle, foaming face wash that won’t dry out your skin. I can definitely agree with most of that. Funny enough, I didn’t really find this was a foaming cleanser which is funny. Not a huge deal though.

The best way I can describe this is similar to like a Cetaphil or Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple cleanser. A very watery face wash that definitely cleans your skin, but it’s super simple. My skin always felt super nourished after which was nice, but I never really felt a deep down clean (which is alright). The one thing I didn’t love about this was the scent. It has a ‘natural’ ‘herb-y’ scent which was a bit strong on application. After washing if off the scent didn’t linger, but just wasn’t really a fan. Definitely a good basic cleanser which I will definitely use up, and know my skin will feel nice afterwards.

Purifying Cream Cleanser

Next up is the Kosmea Purifying Cream Cleanser. I found the naming of this product kind of confusing versus the other cleanser until I read the byline (gentle makeup remover). I’m wondering why they wouldn’t advertise that it’s a makeup remover up front? I guess because it’s not like you couldn’t use it as a regular cleanser? Who knows.

In comparison, this cleanser is much thicker than the Clarifying Cleanser. It’s a bit stronger I find than the Clarifying as well, which makes sense it being more of a makeup remover. I had a full face of cake face makeup on and went in with this to remove. I would say it removed the foundation and eyeshadow alright, but there was no removing my liquid waterproof liner. Compared to more oil based cleansers, this didn’t quite hold up. If you wear a lighter makeup application with say some bb cream or light foundation, I think this could work for you. That’s not usually my makeup style though, so I personally wouldn’t really turn to this as a go to makeup remover.

Energizing Radiance Mask

The Kosmea Energizing Radiance Mask is a cream based mask that is super refreshing and moisturizing. They say you can use it as a mask that you wash off in 15 mins or you can leave it on overnight. I can definitely see myself using this in the winter as an overnight mask. For now in the summer, using it as a regular wash off mask has been good. My skin feels super duper nice and refreshed afterwards. I would say this was one of my favourite products I received from this brand to try! If you have dryer skin, I think this would definitely be nice to add a bit more moisture to your skin.

Rose Hip Oil

Last but not least is the Kosmea Rose Hip Oil that is a staple for the brand. I feel like facial oils have been more and more prevalent in my routine, so I was happy to jump into this one. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I was quite surprised at the bright orange colour coming out of the bottle. Was also NOT a fan of the scent. I don’t even know how to explain it. Once it was on my face though, I didn’t quite notice the scent as much. What I liked about this facial oil was that it soaked into my skin and felt super nourishing. The other facial oils I’ve tried have felt super slick and took some time to really soak in. This one immediately I felt it soaking in which was nice.

I don’t think I’d wear this in the morning as it had suggested, and more wear it at night. I really really liked the feeling of my skin after using this at night. Definitely a facial oil that I’m happy to integrate into my routine!

Overview

All in all, I was happy to integrate these products into my routine for about a month. My favourites out of the bunch were the mask and rose hip oil. I can definitely see myself using up the cleanser and the makeup remover, but not really high raves on my list.

Thanks so much for reading! Hope you have a great day!
