Review: Joico Zero Heat for Fine/Medium Hair

joico zero heat review

Hello there! Today I have a review on the Joico Zero Heat for Fine/Medium Hair. When I saw this review opportunity posted on Chick Advisor, I jumped at the chance to put my name in. This product is supposed to help tame frizz with ‘zero heat’. I feel like I haven’t used heat products in awhile (just from being inside), but the frizz is REAL with my hair. If there’s anyone that could put it to the test, my hair definitely can!

Overview:

A cream that doesn’t remove the frizz completely, but does help (somewhat).

$20 USD

The Joico Zero Heat is a cream product that you put in damp, towel dried hair after cleaning. It’s super easy to use. I’ve been using this for around 2 weeks now. The consistency is a light cream and very easy to comb through. I’ve tested this both when I take a shower at night and also shower in the morning.

When I use nothing in my hair, it’s a complete frizz disaster. The frizz is at the roots and the sides. For this cream I found it worked very well on flyaways near the scalp at the roots. That reduced the frizz significantly. The frizz farther down stayed though unfortunately. It was maybe marginally better, but I would definitely use a straightening iron if I was to go out for an event or something. Another thing I noticed was that I found my ends very dry after using this. I usually ended up using an oil based hair serum on my ends.

It’s definitely not terrible from the photo, but it’s not frizz free by any means. I’m curious if the ‘thick’ hair version of this would have been better for me. I had specifically asked or the Fine/ Medium hair version because I do have medium hair. I wonder if my frizz makes it next level though…

Hope this was helpful if you were thinking of picking this up!

Have a great day!
