First Impressions: Urban Decay Born to Run Palette (Swatches)

When I was closing on my house, the last thing I was thinking about was new makeup. And during that time, there were no releases that I got particularly excited about. Except this one. When I first saw the Urban Decay Born to Run palette I was instantly pulled in. I love that it had an even amount of mattes, metallics, neturals and colours! I can wait to show you my thoughts!

The Born to Run palette is housed in hard plastic with travel photographs on the front. It’s super cute! I’m actually surprised how hard the plastic feels. It has very sharp edges, and just feels very tough. There are 21 shades with a very large mirror on the inside.

In terms of colour selection, as I mentioned, I really like how this palette looks. I’ve been playing this for a bit now and you can create both neutral looks, but also more dramatic ones with the colours. The quality of the shadows is what you’d expect with Urban Decay. Smooth and buttery. I noticed that the metallics in this had a lot more omph than the mattes. I can definitely see myself using the coppers the most here.

I do think the top row is mostly pretty boring. I find that Urban Decay sometimes puts these light beiges which are very similar together. I can’t see myself reaching for them that much. Favourites for me are Accelerate, Guilt Trip, Big Sky, Double Life, and Radio!

All in all, I would definitely recommend this palette. This is one of those nice ones that are all encompassing. Caters to neutrals and colour, but you’re able to create a cohesive look with everything.

What are your thoughts on the Born to Run palette?

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
