Hello! This haul is so overdue, but I’m finally getting to it! When the Animal Crossing collection was released by Colourpop I jumped on it! I’m a long term fan of the series and I saw quite a few things that really caught my eye! I also took this opportunity to grab some other items I’d been eyeing but didn’t want to put a full order in for!
Animal Crossing Collection
The Animal Crossing collection included quite an array of products. I tried to pick out things that I was sure I’d get some use out of.
Eye Palettes
Nook Inc.
Nook Inc. really stood out to me out of the entire collection. I don’t have a huge amount of green eyeshadow palettes (in this haul I got two!). I’m really in love with “Yes…Yes!” being such a slight duo shine. One thing that REALLY surprised me though was that on the thicker chunkier glitter in his palette, “CEO” is ‘Not intended for use in the immediate eye area.’ That really surprised me. I assume the reason for that is the nature of the glitter, but it seems really concerning that you potentially shouldn’t use that shade on your eye…? I did a bit of googling and I wasn’t able to find that much. It seems like a ‘buyer beware’ and ‘don’t sue us’. This is disappointing though because another glitter brand that I use frequently, Lit Cosmetics makes it clear that their glitter is eye safe. Due to this warning on the Colourpop one, I can’t see myself using “CEO” very often.
What a Hoot
The What a Hoot palette is the brown toned mini palette in this collection. I know I probably don’t need another brown palette, but it was just so cute. 🙂 Again though, ‘Meteor Shower’ is not meant to be worn on the eye which is super disappointing. I will definitely still continue to use the other three shades, but for both of these palettes they are more for the ‘collector’ in me.
Flower Tender Blush
I’m very pleased with the Flower Tender blush. The other blush in this collection was just too purple-based for me to use very often. Flower Tender feels like an inbetween of cool-toned and warm-toned. It has some slight sparkle to it, but nothing crazy. I really like this blush so far!
Fruit Roots Lip Kit
Peach Surprise – Orange Cutie
The Fruit Roots Lip Kit is actually my favourite thing from the collection. There are two lip balms/tints in this in the peachy variety. I love how moisturizing these are and actually how much colour they give. They are both very comfortable and easy to apply. They are also the perfect size for on the go. I definitely think it would be good to use a mirror with these because these colours are pretty opaque!

The Child Eyeshadow Palette
So I’ve had my eye on this palette for the longest time, but never had enough to validate the purchase. I really love this palette. It’s such a solid green palette with a lot variety for a lot of looks. There is a good mix of mattes and metallics. I’m very glad to have this in my collection!
The two other things I bought were the No Filter Natural Matte Foundation and the Lux Lipstick in Still Crazy. Funny enough I’ve already purchased the No Filter foundation before, but the shade was sooo off that I never used it. This one is much closer. Just a tad dark, but I think I can make it work! I was also actually planning on using Still Crazy as my wedding lipstick! I really love the shade and this formula is amazing!
