Declutter: Foundation and Concealer

foundation declutter

I would consider foundation one of my most important items in my routine. It was one of my ‘gateway’ items for makeup and I love the variety that’s on the market. Foundation is one category that I actually purged a lot of! And a lot of really good items too! It was mostly due to the shade match which is super unfortunate! I can’t wait to also show you my concealer collection! (spoiler alert, I kept all of them…!)

Foundation

As with consistency from my other declutter posts, I decided to put the main photo on the items that I’m keeping. I love the picture because no two foundations are alike. Each one’s packaging, size and shape are totally unique which I love! I would say my top two foundations of all time are the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation (review here) and the Estee Lauder Double Wear (review here). If I was stranded on an island and only had these two foundations I would survive!

In terms of purged foundations, I got rid of some winners unfortunately. The Charlotte Tilbury, Wet n Wild, and Urban Decay were just due to shade match. Wasn’t a huge fan of The Ordinary Foundations (a versus review on the serum and coverage foundation here) and didn’t love the Cover FX one all that much! Sad that a few of these are just money down the drain. 🙁 You know when you try out a foundation for a bit and you think it looks good, but then after a month or so you really start to notice the shade? Yeah, that’s these foundations for me.

Concealers

As mentioned, the spoiler was that I ended up keeping all my concealers. I have a few newly acquired concealers such as my Colourpop No Filter and Tarte Shape Tape that I got after this picture was taken. I love the variety of concealers. My first ‘high end’ concealer was the Make Up For Ever Full Cover which I still really love. This has a really tacky consistency which is great for covering up certain spots! Another ‘rediscovery’ is my YSL Touche Eclat Pen. This stuff works like a DREAM for under the eyes. My favourite drugstore option is the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer*. This performs just as well as some of my higher end options! I would highly recommend!

All in all, still happy with my generous stash of face products! And said goodbye to some that just weren’t cutting it. Spot any favs from your collection?

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
