First Impressions: Drunk Elephant Hit it Off Duo

drunk elephant hit it off duo

For Valentine’s Day this year, the boyfriend got me the Drunk Elephant Hit it Off set. To say he did well is an understatement. I’ve been looking forward to trying more Drunk Elephant products and these kits seem like a great way to jump right in! I’ve been using them for a bit now and can give a quick first impressions!
The two products included in this set are the Lala Retro Whipped Cream and the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser.  I’ve used the Lala whipped cream before and enjoy it. It’s unlike a cream I’ve used before. It has a very thick and rich texture, but it dries down really well on the skin. It doesn’t make my skin feel greasy at all. Due to this, I can see this cream being really good for a lot of skin types. This is a great cream to use under makeup as well since it dries down to almost a primer-like feel. I will definitely be continuing to use this into the warmer weather.

The jelly cleanser on the other hand is something brand new. The first thing I noticed about this mini size of the jelly cleanser is the bottle top. I think the full size is different, but this mini doesn’t actually have a flip top cap. It’s a twist top with a little hole to dispense product once squeezed. I’ve never used a product like this before, but I’m really not sure the reason for this. It seems just as much work to create a cap that twists open and closed versus a flip top. The only thing you have to be careful of is once you close the cap after dispensing product, you wipe the lid so there is no excess product left.

The cleanser itself is pretty good! It doesn’t foam up too much, which is fine, and gets my skin pretty clean. This doesn’t strip moisture from my skin either which is great. Something that I do like about this cleanser is that you can use it as a full makeup removal solution. You can use it all over the face including eyes and neck. I’ve been using oil based cleansers to remove makeup lately and this ranks right up with them in terms of being able to removal a full face of makeup.

All in all, I really like both of these products. I would say if you’re at all interested in these products, this mini set is a great way to try them out. I always take forever to use up products, so I actually get a really good use out of these ‘smaller’ sized products!

Have you tried Drunk Elephant? Any favs? Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
