Versus: Drugstore Products as Good as High End

drugstore makeup as good as high end

I remember recently writing that I haven’t been to the drugstore in awhile. That has seemed to rectify itself as I feel like a LOT of the products I’m reaching for are actually from the drugstore! I thought I would put together a guide of some of my favourite drugstore products that I think perform as good as high end!

Bronzer

In my recent Annabelle First Impressions post, I featured the Annabelle Biggy Bronzer Matte*. I LOVE this bronzer. I think it’s one the best I’ve ever tried. I think that I could compare it to is the Too Faced Sweet Tea Bronzer. Both are light and very easy to blend. I actually prefer the Biggy Bronzer as I find that the Sweet Tea can be a bit light right off the bat (I need to built it up a bit more).

Sponges

I actually have a whole post comparing these, but the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge* is top notch. It’s a fourth of the price and works just as well in my opinion. I’ve stopped buying Beauty Blenders and am just using up my stash to completely transition over to RT!

Lipstick

My newest post features the NYX Powder Puff Lippies and I made the comparison to the Too Faced Melted lipsticks. The applicator is of a similar material and the finish and formula seems very similar! Definitely a close dupe in my opinion!

Liquid Eyeliner

The Essence Super Precise eyeliner* is shocking how amazing it is. I have the Urban Decay Razor Sharp eyeliner (which I did a review on here) and I really like it. I would say that the Essence is SO SO similar in terms of formula and application. If you’re looking for a liquid brush with a blackest black liner, I would highly recommend the Essence one for price!

Eyeshadow Palette

I will just leave my ABH Modern Renaissance vs. Wet n Wild’s Rose in the Air* Versus post right here so you can get all the indepth deets! TL;DR, the Wet n Wild is a a great, dirt cheap option to emulate Modern Renaissance!

Cream Contouring Sticks

Another Wet n Wild fav is the Dual Ended Contour Stick*. One high end product I can compare it to is the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio (I have “Light”). The Fenty trio has a blush shade as well which is pretty, but I find kind chunky so I never really use it. Both are super creamy and very easy to blend. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to the cream contouring craze, the Wet n Wild is a top notch option!

Brows

So these are almost identical dupes if not for the colour selection. The NYX Micro Brow and the ABH Brow Wiz are honestly indistinguishable if not for the brand name. Both packaging is identical with the skinny pencil on one end  and a spooly on the other. The Micro Brow used to be harder to come by, but with NYX continuing it’s reign in Canada, it’s much easier to come across thank goodness!

And there is my roundup of AMAZING drugstore products! Any favourites? Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
