I know, I know. I’m a bit behind the times. I usually am in general, just in life, but nothing more so than mentioning The Ordinary. If you enjoy beauty / reading blogs / watching beauty videos / don’t live under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the brand. I decided to wander into one of their freestanding stores and check it out. Of course I came out with some items and I thought I would share.
First Impressions: Wet n Wild Hello Halo Liquid Highlighters + Swatches
Continuing on with my Wet n Wild posts, I have a First Impressions on some new liquid highlighters, their Mega Glo Hello Halo Liquid Highlighters. I LOVE their Mega Glo Highlighting Powders and definitely think they rival high end highlighters like Becca! I had ‘high’ hopes for these, so lets see how they swatch!
Versus: ABH Modern Renaissance and Wet n Wild Color Icon Rose in the Air
A palette that has taken the makeup world by absolute storm is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. When I first got it, I was a bit hesitant, but after owning it for awhile now, I’m SO glad I made the purchase. It’s one of my most used palettes!
At the Wet n Wild 2018 product launch event, they were showcasing the repackaged and reformulated Color Icon eyeshadow palettes. One of the 10 pan palettes, Rose in the Air, looks SCARILY similar to Modern Renaissance. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do a versus post on them.
First Impressions: Wet n Wild Mega Cushion + Swatches
Hi folks! Wet n Wild is one of my favourite drugstore brands. I find that the quality and innovations are just impeccable for the price. I recently went to a 2018 launch event and I got lots of products to try out (so you’ll be seeing a few Wet N Wild posts in the near future)! Some items I got are the Mega Cushion Colour Correctors, Contour, and Highlight.
Brand Collection: Veil Cosmetics
Of course, I’m always down to try new brands, and I was recently introduced to Veil Cosmetics. Veil Cosmetics was created by Sebastien Tardif, a makeup artist who thought that makeup should enhance and not mask. Veil had a booth set up at IMATS this year and I actually met Sebastien himself. He was enthusiastic to share how his products are different from others on the market. I was sent some products to try as well so I thought I would give you the lowdown.
#OOTD: TWIK by Simons
It’s rare that I do outfit or fashion posts just because I wouldn’t really consider myself a very stylish person. I can say that I definitely do try but I wouldn’t say I have that ‘eye’ to pick out pieces that look good. In comes ChickAdvisor with their latest campaign with Simons. I don’t think there was a campaign that I wanted more than this one. We were given a $100 credit and had the task to pick out at least 2 items from a set of pre-determined items. Lets just say that I loved many more than 2 of the items and decided to buy a bunch. I have a couple of ways I styled the pieces which was super fun!
First Impressions: Anastasia Beverly Hills Prisim Eyeshadow Palette (+Swatches)
Since I had to order my Sephora Beauty Insider birthday gift, I thought I would make the shop worth my while by also picking up a palette I was eyeing, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism palette. I know people might be a bit gun shy after the whole Subculture debacle, but I was never interested in the Subculture palette in the first place. The Prism palette in comparison really caught my eye and I decided to go for it.
Versus: Make Up For Ever Ultra HD and Inglot HD Perfect Coverup
Something I’ve been into lately is foundations. I feel like I’ve been accumulating a lot of them, and genuinely enjoying trying all of them out. Today I wanted to pit an old favourite against a newcomer. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD (and prior HD foundation) has had a fantastic place in my foundation lineup. I’ve actually done a Versus post on the Ultra HD and old HD formula here. At IMATS, I ended up picking the Inglot HD Perfect Coverup foundation. I mostly bought this cause I’m getting low on the MUFE Ultra HD. The claims are similar though, so I thought I might as well see how they fair against each other!
Free Graveyard Nail Stencils from Nail Polish Canada
Photo from Whats Up Nails / Nail Polish Canada
Hello folks! Today I have an exciting post thanks to Nail Polish Canada! Halloween is fast approaching, and that means fun makeup and nails! I enjoy doing my nails, but I’m no expert. Nail Polish Canada provided me with a set of Graveyard stencils to try out and I also have a code that gets you a set for FREE!
Review: Essence Colour Correcting Sticks
Hello folks! I know colour correcting is a bit of a ‘been there, done that’, but there is a launch from Essence that I think is worth looking at. I’ve tried a couple of colour correctors here are there and they’ve always been pretty good. The only issue is that for something I don’t use all the time, I don’t want to spend a huge amount of money on it. I think the Essence Colour Correcting Sticks have that point covered!
