Mary Kay Satin Hands and Lip Sets

Hello friends! I was recently stranded on a work trip in the north due to extreme weather conditions. While up there, one of the things I noticed first was how extremely dry and uncomfortable my skin was feeling. I actually got a nosebleed because it was just so dry there. It was a combination of the drying hotel soap and just the overall dry air. Long story short, winter is here and skin is dry.

Something I wish I had up on my trip was the Mary Kay “Satin” lines: Satin Hands and Satin Lips. If you’re like me and dry skin and lips aren’t your thing, these might be a great way banish it ’till summer!

Brand Collection: MyChelle Dermaceuticals Skincare

As I get older, one thing that I look further into is skincare. When MyChelle, a new skincare brand to Canada (which is now being sold at Shoppers Drug Mart’s Beauty Boutique) reached out, I was excited to look into it. MyChelle sent me four different products to try and I’m happy to now share my thoughts! I’ve been using these products for some time, (2 or so months) and I think I’ve definitely been able to formulate an opinion on them.

BITE Beauty Mauvember 2015 vs. 2016

Hello! I recently posted about BITE and I’m at it again. This post will be fairly short, but it will be an overview of the 2015 versus 2016 BITE Mauvember shade in support of the Movember Foundation. I know when they announced the 2016 shade, I wasn’t sure if it was the same limited edition shade or different. As ‘mauve’ as they both are, I’m happy to report that they are in fact different!

Event Recap: Dermablend Canadian Launch + Reviews

Hello friends! Today I have an exciting post. A few weeks ago I had the privilege of attending the Canadian launch for Dermablend, a high coverage makeup line. I had not heard of Dermablend before the event, but the brand really intrigued me. The invite was filled with photos of incredible transformations and how people use Dermablend to cover imperfections. The night was both informative and entertaining. and I had a great time!

Hi folks! Today I have something much different than my usual beauty posts! I got the chance to review a new beauty book called The Compassionate Chick’s Guide to DIY Beauty. I’m not much for a DIYer and neither vegan or gluten free. For all of these reasons, I was very interested in trying this book out. First Impressions: FaceOff Makeup Removing Cloth

If you know my makeup habits, you’ll know that I consider myself a makeup wipe connoisseur. I try any and all makeup wipes and end up using them as the main way to take off my makeup. I definitely know that makeup wipes aren’t the most effective way to remove makeup, but my laziness always seems to take precedent. I’m also fully away that using a wipe a day to just be thrown in the garbage is pretty wasteful.

I was recently approached to try the FaceOff Makeup Removing Cloth. A microfiber cloth that is supposed to take off your makeup with just warm water?! Sign me up!

Review: NYX Beauty School Dropout in Graduate + Swatches

Some time ago, I got the chance to go to a NYX Prom event (which you can read about here). The theme was done impeccably and we got the chance to take home a backpack with some goodies. One of the said goodies was the Beauty School Dropout palette in Graduate. The palette is massive with 35 eye shadows, 2 contour powders, 2 highlighting powders and 3 blushes. I’ve had a chance to play around with the powders and am definitely ready to give you my opinion on them!
