Personal: My Wedding Day!

So it’s been quite some time since I last mentioned it, but I’m all set to do my wedding day post! We recently got our wedding photos back from Into the Aisle and I’m so happy to be featuring a lot of their beautiful photos! If you’re interested in the planning of my micro/intimate wedding, you can check out that post here!

Morning of

The morning of the wedding was great. I left our house pretty early and went to my parents to get ready. The ceremony was planned for 5pm, so we had quite a bit of time to get ready and just relax.

For food we ended up going with a charcuterie board just because it felt easier. As people were getting their hair done, doing makeup, just milling around we thought it would be best. We went with Table Graze by Emily. The platter we got was so impressive and delicious. Her pricing is pretty affordable, and we had a lot left over! We were all very happy with it!

In terms of makeup, I did my own. I was a bit nervous about it, but had gone through a couple of practice rounds. It didn’t take me nearly as long as I thought it would. I think in total it was around 45 minutes? A decent time on a regular day to be honest.

I’m glad I went with the makeup I did. The day was so so hot and my makeup seemed to hold up against it. Here’s a full list of everything I used:

At the Venue

Our ceremony location was Evergreen Brickworks. For those not in Toronto, it’s a converted brick factory with lots of greenspace. I specifically wanted the indoor area and I’m so glad I went with that. I just much prefer the greenhouse look. Our set up was simple, but exactly what I wanted. We got our florals from Wildfell Florals as a recommendation from Into the Aisle. We ordered an arch with two arrangements on either side and arrangements beside our small aisle. We ended up not even really having an aisle. With only 6 seated guests, we ended up doing a semi circle, three on either side.

Evergreen provided the tables and chairs. We got the rugs from Ikea which was a huge money saver. We looked into some rug rentals and they were astronomically expensive.

In terms of musical choice, we went with Denise Fung who is an incredible harpist. Evergreen is a heritage site and have very specific audio visual hookup requirements. We definitely wanted a musical component so decided on acoustic. It was such a beautiful addition to the day and I would definitely recommend looking into Denise if you have a GTA event.

My Dress and Outfit

I spoke about more details on my dress in my planning post, but now that we have our photo suite, I wanted to show it all put together. My dress was a one-of-a-kind Mikaella who is a Toronto designer. I had a cathedral style veil with small jewels lining the edge. Since my dress didn’t have a massive train, I wanted to do something really large with my veil. I’m really pleased with how the whole look came together!

Additional Items

We decided to do a small suite of invitations from Vistaprint. I’m so glad we did because we got some great detail shots from Into the Aisle. We will definitely keep them as memories, but so glad we didn’t have to break the bank doing a large amount of them. Vistaprint is pretty inexpensive and have some easy templates to make the invitations so easy.

Another somewhat last minute addition to the wedding were these sugar cookie favours we did of our kitties Max and Nicky. Again, so glad we were able to do this as they were both delicious and looked great. Even though we couldn’t have them be at the ceremony, by having these edible favours was such a special way to honour them. 🙂 We got them from Cupcake Junkie, they did a fantastic job!

And there we have a review of my wedding day! I loved looking through the photos and reliving the day! I’m also so glad to have done my wedding outside of the wedding boom of 2022! If any brides or grooms to be have any questions on planning or whatever, I’m happy to answer anything about our day!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
