Halloween 2021: Sadness from Inside Out

Sadness Halloween costume from inside out

Hello ghouls and goblins! Happy Halloween! I wanted to show everyone what my costume was this year! Sadness from Inside Out! I actually have been thinking about what my costume should be for awhile now and landed on Sadness.

I try and choose my costumes based on either an extremely easy DIY component, or something I can mostly do myself. Also a huge plus if it’s Disney, cat themed, or is able to utilize my glasses as well!

Sadness hit all the boxes! It was actually a relatively easy costume to pull off!

The main components I got from Amazon. The blue face paint, blue wig and wig cap were all from Amazon. The wig came with a wig cap but I’m glad I got some more because I actually wore two just to keep my hair in place.

The face paint was water/ glycerin based which made it surprisingly easy to put on and remove. I dipped my brush in water to activate it and then just painted on. I needed a few coats to be even, but was pleasantly surprised with the coverage. The one I bought was the Maydear face paint. I’d totally buy it again.

So the first step was the face paint. Left my eyelids and lips open. I then started with my eyes after the face paint was on. I used my Urban Decay Born to Run palette and tried my best to blend out. Also used it for my brows which turned out okay. After I had the colour on, I went over the eyes again with the face paint just to clean up the lines. I then used my Rare Beauty liquid eyeliner to finish it. I feel like I could have done a bit more with the eyes, but decently happy how it turned out!

The lips were an old Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit* which I assume they don’t sell anymore because it was LE through their Fire and Ice collection. I’m glad I had this colour though because it worked so well with the eyes!

Highlight was at the end on my nose and cheekbones with the original Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette.

After that, just the wig on and I was done! All in all for timing I think took 45mins to 1 hour? Definitely an easy costume that I think could be done again! It also held up for over 8 hours so I’d call that a success!

Thanks for reading! What was your costume this year?
