Hello! It’s been awhile! Today I have a post on some Revlon products that I’ve been using for a couple of weeks now. I have some really big winners in the bunch and I can’t wait to show them to you! Revlon always seems to surprise me with the quality of their drugstore products.
Candid Face Products
Jumping right into it, I was so excited to receive some of the new-ish Candid collection including foundation, concealer and setting powder. The shtick for these is that they are ‘anti-pollution’ to help protect your skin from the elements of daily life.
Foundation 210 Natural Ochre – Concealer 15 Light
In general I’m happy with all three products. The foundation (in shade 210 Natural Ochre) matched me pretty well. It’s a pretty good ‘staple’ foundation that’s good for every day. I’m so used to using a lot of very heavy foundation for the coverage so this was a nice treat. I love that it has medium coverage though so it still covers up the spots that I want it to. I applied this with a wet sponge which seemed to work pretty well.
The concealer (in shade 15 Light) worked really well as both an undereye and spot concealer. The formula is thick, but not cakey, giving a natural look. The applicator was one of the most unique parts. It has a rounded, elongated tip to help spread evenly for application under the eyes.
The setting powder was okay as well, but I tend to find I don’t really set my makeup much anymore. I found it best used on my t-zone where I tend to get the most oily throughout the day. It didn’t keep me completely matte, but looked natural enough where I didn’t look completely cakey.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the face products from the Candid collection!
Rose Glow Primer
Going a bit out of order, but next up is the Rose Glow Primer. I had really high hopes for this one, but unfortunately using it, I didn’t notice too much of a difference. In the bottle the product is just stunning as you can see. It has a very iridescent glow. At first, I thought those bubble things were just that, bubbles, but they are actually oil beads that sort of burst as you apply the product. I thought this was a bit hokey, not really immediately adding to the efficacy of the product.
For the swatches above, I left two of the beads uncrushed just so you could see what they look like. As you massage it under with your hands, they are easy to massage in so don’t worry about residue after you warm them in your hands. I prefer silicon primers anyways, so as pretty as this looks in the bottle, it’s a product that’s not personally for me.
Maverick Palette
Okay DUDE THIS PALETTE. I was BLOWN AWAY but the quality of this. I will say that Revlon is on the higher end of drugstore and the palette is small, but the pigmentation on this puppy is unreal. I’ve been loving reds on my eyes lately and this has been a welcome addition to my collection.
Like, are you kidding me?? The mattes and metallics are stunning and I just can’t stop ohhing and ahhing over it. The shadows are super buttery and easy to wear on the lids. They advertise this as 24hr wear which I can’t necessarily attest to, but they did wear very well. They have a couple of other palettes in this collection which I am definitely looking into picking up!
Exactify Liquid Liner
Unfortunately coming off of that GLOWING review is this miss. The Exactify Liquid Liner was just not up to par. The applicator is this wheel thing which I just found so strange. When you wear liner, you’re not drawing in a straight line (well, I’m not at least). I also found the formula so watery! Not sure if it was just this colour (Stunning Copper) or what but not impressed.
Ultra HD Matte Lip Mousse
To end off on a good note, I’m so so impressed with the Ultra HD Matte Lip Mousse. The product itself is so fluffy and moussey which makes application pretty easy. It is indeed a true matte though and packs a punch! You have to be a bit careful not to layer on too much as it can get a bit messy. Otherwise, a very solid lip product which definitely adds a pop to your look! I have the colour 810 Sunset which is a beautiful pinky-poppy red!
810 Sunset
All the products really add to a super rich sunset look that works so well together.
Thanks so much for reading! Now to find more of those palettes! 😀
