Hi beauty lovers! Today I have a new-ish launch from Mary Kay. They released four limited edition matte lipsticks in bold colours! When I first opened these up I was in shock how BRIGHT they look! I was definitely looking forward to trying them out and seeing how they wear!
The four colours are:
- Orange Mio
- Grazie, Violet
- Roma Red
- Puro Mirtillo
My favourites out of the bunch are Orange Mio and Roma Red. All of the colours went on smooth, but I found with Grazie, Violet and Puro Mirtillo went on a bit patchy. Grazie, Violet was a bit strange as I couldn’t get the middle of my lips to take the colour! It was quite strange! Not sure if it was the pressure I was putting on or what!
One thing to note with these is that your lips have to be SUPER moisturized. My lips were decently moisturized, but still had some loose flakes. These lipsticks definitely highlight any non-smooth part of your lips. The plus of the extreme matte look is how creamy the colour looks though, which is not super common in my collection.
In general I like these lipsticks for the colour, but I find for me personally, my lips get too dry.The colour remains pretty well, but it starts to look very messy throughout the day as my lips dry up.
I really love that more brands are coming out with brighter and super pigmented colours. As I said, I think Orange Mio and Roma Red would be more worth your money. You can get the Mary Kay Limited Edition Matte Lipsticks for $20 CAD.
