Hello there! Yesterday I had a great day at the One of a Kind Show. This is my third show, and I can definitely see myself going back year after year. For those that don’t know, the One of a Kind Show is a twice yearly art and craft show that features Canadian artisans. There’s everything from food to fine art, to stationary, and plush toys. There’s definitely something for everyone there!
The show is very well organized with artists grouped by genre (Flavours, Fashion, etc.). The main area features a beautiful tree and some featured items from some of the artists. It was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon, with a bit of weaving and dodging around people. It’s wasn’t completely slammed, but if you could, I’m sure a weekday would be much more calm.
The main stage is also available in the middle of the show featuring special demonstrations or talks. They also have daily fashion shows, so be sure to check out the schedule if you’d like to take a breather from shopping.
Another fun aspect to the show is the Creative Lounge. Here you can work on complementary DIY projects with artisans that are selling at the show. Our day was action packed with shopping so we unfortunately unable to really check it out. The full list details and schedule of the Creative Lounge are on the One of a Kind website.
And now to the fun stuff, what I ended up picking up at the show!
Kismet Essentials Bath Salts
Kismet Essentials is a brand I hadn’t heard of before, but I was instantly drawn in by their bath salts. They had three featured at the show, Float (dead sea salt with eucalyptus and peppermint), Soothe (Himalayan salt with rose and ylang ylang), and Chill (black lava salt with lavender and rosemary). I opted for Float and Soothe. I’m always looking for ways to spice up my bath and I’m very excited to try these out! One bottle for $20 and two for $30.
Urban Nest Decor
Urban Nest Decor instantly drew me in with their cute signs and ornaments. I was looking for a ‘first home’ ornament at the show this year. I thought this ornament fit the bill nicely and it’s already hanging happily on our tree. π They had a great collection of custom signs, ornaments and other products. I really loved the aesthetic of the products here. The ornament I picked up was $8.
Alicja Confections
I decided to finally check out Alicja Confections after the major hype from another Canadian blogger, Liz from Stay Gorgeous! She loves her chocolate so I had to pick up a couple of bars! I decided on the ramen (yes you read that right, RAMEN) and the popping candy one. The really cute thing about these bars is that they are actually a postcard you can mail! They have room for a stamp and everything! I’m definitely excited to try these out! One bar is $8.
Diana Watters Handmade
Diana Watters Handmade is another booth I was debating for a bit. I love the idea of crafty and creative things, but I’ve had varying degrees of success with some of my endeavours. Diana had assured me that this is a very simple introduction to cross stitching. The finished ornament was so cute that I really wanted to give it a go! I can’t wait try this out! π The kit contains everything you need and it cost $18.
And that’s my haul from the One of a Kind Show! I had such a fun time today looking at all the booths. If you’re looking for gifts or a few things for yourself, I would highly recommend checking it out! The show runs until December 2nd at the Enercare Centre.
Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
