With beauty blogging, I feel like you’re always chasing the next big thing. The next launch, the next collection, the next it thing. This post is taking a step back to an old favourite for many. The Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation has been around for eons it feels like. I never really looked into it but I’ve recently heard about it from some bloggers so decided to take the plunge! I can definitely say there is definitely reason why it’s remained a cult favourite!

Rambling Review
This foundation is definitely one of the best I’ve used. It’s perfect for my combo oily skin and definitely lasts all day. I have the colour Sand and it seems to be a pretty good fit. Estee Lauder has a great selection on this foundation with 38 shades. That’s definitely up there with MAC, Fenty, Make Up For Ever, etc.
I always use this with a wet sponge to apply and it’s been doing a great job so far. It applies really dewy when you first put it on, but within 5 minutes it sets to a demi matte.
So let me get to the most ANNOYING thing about this foundation. It does not come with a pump. It baffles me that bottle foundations can even be sold without a pump. It’s 2018 people. Foundations from the drugstore have very sizable and useable pumps so the fact that this $48 foundation does not come with a pump is horrific. I first started using this without a pump and couldn’t stand it. Estee Lauder sells a pump for $14 CAD which I ended up buying. I think it’s completely overpriced considering how cheap of a pump it is. So there’s my gripe on this foundation.
Other than that one gripe, I can say this foundation is definitely worth the hype. The coverage is fantastic. I would say it’s definitely a high coverage, but if I’m sporting a pimple, I’ll usually need concealer. The wear time on this is really impressive too. It definitely lasts all day with only a bit of pilling. I wore this foundation while working out, and I looked crazy. Not because my foundation was everywhere (it wasn’t), but because my eyelids where there was no foundation was completely beet red compared to my face. The foundation did a great job of hiding the redness on my face!
Here’s a look of it on my face. As you can tell it creates a super perfected look which I love in a foundation.
All in all, a very good foundation. The price point is a bit insane, but if you have oily combination skin and suffer from redness like me, I think it’s definitely worth it!
Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
