I’m Not a Beauty Guru’s 4th Blog Birthday + GIVEAWAY!

I can’t believe another year has passed in my blog journey! It honestly does feel like yesterday since I first decided to start this blog. I would say this year has included a lot of change in my blogging and a renewed focus. I love doing these posts just to refresh with myself my goals for blogging and how I’m progressing with those goals! I also have a pretty awesome giveaway for 3 lucky readers so please read on!

Each year I go back to my Beginnings post to just read and remind myself why I did start blogging. I originally started blogging for fun (as most do). I was watching and consuming a lot of beauty videos and blogs, and was trying out a lot of new things. I wanted a way to track what I’ve been trying and blogging seemed like a safe way to do so.

I still want to reiterate that this continues to remain my focus for this blog. I am not trying to make this more than it is, or try and make a full time job out of it. Kudos to those that are doing it, but I just honestly don’t think I have the artistry or creativity to produce content on that level. I think over the past 4 years I’ve gotten a lot better in terms of photography and styling, but there’s always work to be done. I hope to continue to make gains for my own personal growth and development.

One of the highlights of the past year was achieving one of my biggest blog goals: getting a press pass to IMATS. I know this might seem small to some or even frivolous to have such as a goal, but this was a benchmark that I had set for myself outside of my normal “write what I want to” mantra. This goal solely focused on metrics which was something I was always aware of, but didn’t want to put too much stock into as it just breeds disappointment. I was so happy to attend IMATS under a press pass this August! It’s something that I can look back on fondly and feel proud of creating something of perceived value.

Looking forward to this coming year, something I want to focus on (which I think I’ve been getting a bit better with) is consistency. I’ve been wanting to post 2-3 times per week and since about September, I think I’ve more or less been hitting that. There are some low or high weeks, but I’ve been relatively happy with what I’ve been pumping out. I hope to focus more on my reach and building relationships with beauty brands, but always remain true to why I started this blog: for myself!

So enough of the mushy gushy, on to the giveaway! As a way of saying THANK YOU to all those that have supported me over the years, I wanted to do one of my biggest giveaways to date.

I was thinking of buying one big prize, but I thought I wanted to share the love this time around.

Rules

1. This contest will be from November 20th, 2017 12:00AM EST – December 4th, 2017 12:00AM EST and is INTERNATIONAL!
2. You must have reached the age of majority in your local region to be eligible.
3. Only entries through the Rafflecopter widget will be accepted. You may put in as many (or few) entries as you like through the different options.
4. A winner will be randomly chosen from all eligible entries. (I will be checking entries for fairness).
5. Once the winner is contacted, they have 48 hours from the time stamp of the email to get back to me with their shipping address. If the winner has not gotten back to me in that time frame, a new winner will be chosen and so on.

  11. Congratulations on 4 years and I entered the giveaway! I am already following you on all platform anyway so it’s a bonus to me! I would love to see more Asian beauty brands if you don’t mind, I find my skin improved tremendously after using more AB products.
