Of course, I’m always down to try new brands, and I was recently introduced to Veil Cosmetics. Veil Cosmetics was created by Sebastien Tardif, a makeup artist who thought that makeup should enhance and not mask. Veil had a booth set up at IMATS this year and I actually met Sebastien himself. He was enthusiastic to share how his products are different from others on the market. I was sent some products to try as well so I thought I would give you the lowdown.
Veil Cosmetics Sunset Light
One of the products that Sebastien showed me at IMATS was the Sunset Light primer/ serum/ mixing base ($45). He started out by asking what I’ve noticed with other primers. I mentioned that those that work for me are usually thick and silicone based. Sebastien mentioned that Sunset Light is completely different but still works just as well.
Sunset Light is a smooth primer that feels refreshing on the skin. I do notice that it makes a great base for my foundation and keeps my face looking fresh throughout the day! With my oily combo skin type, sometimes finding primers can be challenging. I’ve actually never used a primer like this which is both moisturizing, but keeps my oil at bay. Definitely a primer I can see myself continue to use.
Veil Cosmetics Complexion Fix
Another product that’s been a hit for Veil Cosmetics is their Complexion Fix ($42). It’s a a concealer/ highlighter in a clicky stick format. They have 15 shades in the line, all with one of three undertones. This is great as it provides a decent amount of variety to try and find a colour that fits.
I got three shades to try out: 1G, 2N, 2G. I would say when blending, these give a medium coverage, so definitely pretty good to even out skintone, but not enough if you have intense hyper pigmentation.
The pen format is handy and easy to use and apply. The formula itself is light, but still provides the pigment that is required. It’s definitely good for travel as well!
2G – 2N – 1G – Sunset Light
This brand was definitely a pleasant surprise for me and I was happy to try out the products! Sometimes it’s difficult trying out new products if you already have favs, but it’s worth a try! You might find some winners like I did with Veil Cosmetics!
Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
