It’s always a treat when I can feature a Canadian brand. I was approached by Maison Jacynthe, a Quebec based company, to try out some of their cosmetics and I definitely jumped at the chance! I have three products to showcase/ review: an eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. I’ll be reviewing all three and also show how I managed to put all the products into a cohesive look.
Eyeshadow 05
First up is the eyeshadow. In the pan it’s a shimmery brown. Pretty much one of my go-to-shades. Swatching and using this on the eyes though, I found that I couldn’t get the pigmentation I wanted. Maybe I’m just used to very very pigmented eyeshadows, but I found myself really digging to get the colour to show. With this being said though, If you like really light eyeshadow looks (easy for everyday) this might work for you!
Blush 01
I was excited to try this blush just because I don’t really have a shade like this. I tend towards more pinky blushes where this is more of a brick red. This was definitely one of the highlights of the products I’ve tried. I really love the natural colour it gives. I love the unique-ness of the colour and I’ll definitely be continuing to use this!
Lipstick 05
Next up is the lipstick, I’m very happy with it. It comes in a silver chrome bullet with a wooden lid. I like that it has a bit of weight to it. The colour itself is so pretty. It’s an coral pink that pops a punch! It’s quite pigmented and it has a pretty good wear time. I think it wears best with a balm underneath, but that’s just my opinion (and dry lips).
As you can see, the blush really softens out to a beautiful glow. The eyeshadow is a bit hard to see behind my glasses, but it did create a nice neutral eye! And that lipstick?!? So pretty right?
Another thing I’d like to add is that the packaging on all the products is so beautiful. All of the pan products snap perfectly into a z-palette. They come in a cardboard sleeve similar to any a MAC or Makeup Geek pans with pretty designs. Definitely a nice touch to the products!
So if you’re interested in a Canadian cosmetics brand with some great offerings, I can definitely recommend Maison Jacynthe!!
Thanks for reading! Hope you’re having a great day!
