I am a self declared sunscreen addict. My boyfriend will tell you extensively how I’ve forced his hand in slathering sunscreen on those sunny days. From a young age, my mom has instilled in us the importance of sunscreen from her own no-sunscreen youth. When I heard Coppertone had a new Clearly Sheer line of sunscreens out, I was intrigued. I’m always on the lookout for sunscreen (especially facial sunscreens) that don’t leave you feeling super greasy! On with the review!
General
All three of these products have an SPF of 30 which will definitely protect you on those beach days. Each of these products are also water resistant up to 80 minutes which I can definitely attest to! My boyfriend and I recently bought a Slip n’ Slide to try out in his backyard. Even though the box clearly said not for adult use, we went ahead and had a blast. While rolling around in the Slip n’ Slide you’d think that our sun protection would have faded but it definitely didn’t!
Another huge plus about this line for me is the price. Each one individually costs just under $10 CAD which I think is very reasonable. They also all have a very light, fresh, and clean scent. For me it was barely noticeable and if you’re going to be having adventures outside, it doesn’t stick around or linger. My pet peeve are sunscreens that are just too fragranced. The Clearly Sheer line is appropriate for sensitive skin, and won’t clog pores or cause breakouts. My skin isn’t extremely sensitive, so I might not be a good baseline, but all of these wore just fine on me!
Clearly Sheer Lotion for Face
Lets start with the facial sunscreen. My first impressions are very good of this product. I’ve worn this both under makeup and alone and I like it a lot. Something I also really like about this product is the pump. I have a lot of facial sunscreens in squeeze tubes which is okay, but the pump I feel is better for distributing just the right amount of product. With this specific pump, I find it can get a bit hap hazard if you press too hard, so with a light touch, it dispenses a nice amount of product.
As mentioned, I’ve worn this both under makeup and alone and I really like it. It doesn’t necessarily keep me matte throughout the day, but it doesn’t make me feel greasy and slick either.
Clearly Sheer Spray for Body
Next up is the spray sunscreen. I personally love love love spray sunscreens but everyone else in my life not so much. My mom feels that it gets everywhere and my boyfriend feels it doesn’t give adequate coverage. I would like to provide rebuttal for both of these points. Usually when I use the spray sunscreen, I do it outside, so as not to upset my mother. You’re going outside anyways right? And in terms of coverage, if you take even long and slow strokes, you’ll be okay. I’ve never gotten burned from using spray sunscreen. The only thing about an aerosol can which you have to be careful of is leaving it in a hot car as it could explode (as with any aerosol can).
This sunscreen gets two thumbs up from me!
Clearly Sheer Lotion for Body
The last sunscreen I got to try was a regular lotion body sunscreen. I really liked this sunscreen! It blended in well and lasted for quite a while, even with water activities. I also really like the shape of the bottle. Sometimes when you’re applying sunscreen your hands get all slippery, but with the curvature of the bottle, it lessens the possibility of a drop.
Facial Sunscreen – Cream Body Sunscreen – Spray Sunscreen
All sunscreens blended out. A bit of a shine, but nothing greasy!
All in all I am very happy with these sunscreens. All three of these did exactly what they are intended for which is to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun. They have the added benefit of not turning you into a greasy sunscreen monster. All three of these Clearly Sheer products will be in my vacation bags this summer for sure!
Thanks so much for reading! Hope you have a great day!

I have tried a few sunscreen brands but never Coppertone. I really like the sounds of all 3 so these are added into my list!

This line itself is really great! I would recommend trying any of these if you’re looking for a new sunscreen! 🙂
I’m exactly the same way with forcing my boyfriend to wear sunscreen while he grumbles about it. I joke that when we get old, he’s going to look WAY older than me. I’m looking forward to trying these out!
Yes! Girlfriends to the rescue!
Sunscreen to wear under makeup that doesnt feel greasy? Yes please.
It’s such a revolutionary feeling for sure!
I love how you look these photos by the water! And I still need to try my spray out; it’s been sitting on my dresser waiting for me, but i’ve been inside most of the summer!

Thanks Katherine! Hopefully this weekend you’ll be able to soak up some sun!
I always tell myself to wear sunscreen but I always don’t, whoopss. The packaging on these look so summery, maybe that would give me an incentivee….haha Great photos!
