Hello! Today I have a first impressions of some Three Ships Beauty products I purchased recently! I’ve known about the brand for awhile but have always had a couple skincare things on the go. I’ve finally taken the plunge and picked up a few things! I’ve only been using them for a week, so for now it’ll just be a first impression!
Before we start, one of the reasons I purchased when I did was I got the chance to sign up for a 20% off coupon. Three Ships’ prices are decently reasonable, but the 20% doesn’t hurt! If you’ve been like me and was waiting for an excuse to purchase, you can use my affiliate code IMNOTABEAUTYGURU20 for 20% off at checkout. I noticed the discount didn’t apply for already discounted sets so I’d keep that in mind! Lets get into it!
About Three Ships Beauty
I first heard about Three Ships Beauty on Dragons Den. For those in the states, its the equivalent of Shark Tank. Their pitch was great and really highlighted the brand.
Three Ships’ ethos is to provide 100% natural products at a competitive price point. They are cruelty free and manufactured in Toronto, Canada. The brand is woman founded by Connie and Laura.
One thing that definitely shines through about the brand is the level of education it provides. There are tons of resources to ensure that you know about what’s in your skincare, full transparency on ingredients, along with what and when you should be using for your skin type.
Sustainability is a huge aspect to the company as well. They have very detailed instructions about how to recycle packaging and are constantly taking steps to get their packaging more sustainable (e.g. looking to change some of their sticker labels to screen printed to make the glass bottles easier to recycle).
Purify Cleanser
First up is the Purify Cleanser ($26). I kinda thought I goofed with this because apparently this is for Dry to Normal Skin (which I seemed to have missed reading…). I am definitely on the oilier side of Combo skin, so I wasn’t sure how this would work. Luckily I haven’t noticed any serious repercussions. :p The packaging is interesting. When I first saw this on the website I thought it was a spray bottle but it is indeed a pump. The glass bottle is decently unique for a cleanser. It definitely adds a luxe feel to the product.
It’s a serum-y consistency that has a herbal smell to it. I wouldn’t say it smells amazing, but definitely not offensive. It foams slightly, but doesn’t bubble up. So far, it has been leaving my skin clean and fresh. Definitely a product I’ll be using up!
Dew Drops
Next up is a little power house, Dew Drops ($45 CAD). This a hyaluronic acid and vitamin c water based serum that you apply before your moisturizer. So far I’m loving this! My skin feels extra refreshed after using this and I can definitely notice the level of hydration. It’s a very very sticky serum which surprised me. One dropper worth of product is more than enough for the entire face. The only thing I’ll say is that I can see myself using this up quite quickly! And at $45 it is a bit on the pricey side. So far though, I’m thinking I would re-purchase just because I have noticed a difference even with only having used it for a week!
Radiance Day Cream
Next we have the Radiance day cream ($39 CAD). It contains squalane (already a fav oil for me) and grape stem cell. One of the first things that drew this to me was the packaging. It’s an air pump which allows for the cream to stay fresher longer since it’s not being contaminated with fingers each and every time. It’s quite a hefty bottle too! I think $39 is a very fair price for this.
The consistency is a light cream. I’ve heard that people have said for really dry skin this doesn’t give enough moisture, but this actually gives me plenty. After it dries down, my skin feels very plump and hydrated. One thing I haven’t tried yet is how this plays with makeup. Since I received this, I haven’t had the chance to wear makeup. My thoughts are that this would be fine, but I’m curious if it creates too hydrated of a base. Even with that said, I’ve been wearing this quite often and it’s integrated quite easily into my routine.
Buttercream Lip Mask
Lastly we have the Buttercream Lip Mask ($23 CAD). I was definitely a bit nervous for this because I’m so picky with my lip balms/ masks. One thing off the bat that I don’t love is the pot packaging. I will forever hate pot lip products just because I find them horribly unsanitary with my grubby paws trying to get product out. That packaging option has never been a fav and I will maintain that till the end!
The product itself is an oily balm consistency. Right when I apply it I definitely smell the buttercream, it does smell exactly like a cake! Funny enough though, after it’s applied the scent disappears! Very strange! This one so far is just ok for me. I have very little luck with moisturizing lip products just because my lips are SO dry. Like, extremely dry. This does add some moisture, but not as much as I’d like. It’s good enough to use up, but I don’t think I’d repurchase.
And there are some early first impressions! Skincare should be used for a decent amount of time to get a real feel for results, so I’ll have another blog post up to check in on my skin in a bit.
