One of my favourite times of year is upon us! One of a Kind show season! I’ve been purveying the One of a Kind show for a couple years now and it never gets old. I love just walking through and seeing all of these amazing items for sale by artisans who really care about their craft. I thought I’d show you a bit about the show and also go through some things that I picked up!
The Show
The show is runs from November 21 to December 1 2019 at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto. It’s a full artisan show full of creators and artists selling their work. They have everything from food, paintings, ceramics, clothing and much more. It’s on my hit list each year! They have both a winter and spring show.
My Visit
I went the first day, November 21, for the media breakfast. It was a very unique offering made by the chef of one of my favourite Thai places, Sukhothai, Nuit Regular. I was surprised how much I liked everything as it definitely wasn’t typical breakfast fare (at least that I’ve had).
The event is stunning, with Christmas/ winter decor everywhere. Each show they have a competition where artists can put in pieces based on a theme. This show’s theme was Penguins from Penguin Random House. There are so many amazing items, and I was so glad to check it out! Be sure to vote for your favourite piece, you have a chance to win a prize pack just for voting!
Succulents from Homebody Collective. I’ve purchased from her at my very first show a couple of years ago!
Living Apothecary teas that were served at the media breakfast! I really liked the one I tried!
Last year we bought our ‘Home Sweet Home’ ornament from Urban Nest. Beautiful printed wood pieces!
Haul
You’re probably wondering what I picked up at the show! I’m actually planning to go back next week with Maria, but here’s what I picked up so far! π
The Heritage Bee
I was first introduced to The Heritage Bee at the spring show where they kindly gifted some Seed Bombs (I have yet to try it because we were doing some work in our backyard. I can’t wait to spread them during the spring)! I came back during the winter show to pick up some of their creamed honey ($16). I’ve never been much of a liquid honey person (don’t bake a lot and take my tea black), but I was looking for something to eat with toast. This seemed perfect! This is wildflower honey from the Niagara escarpment. The honey is hand extracted and bottled by hand. I’m so looking forward to using this during the winter season!
La Lichee
My friend I was travelling the show with, Nancy, knew the brand La LicheeΒ from Montreal. She had nothing but good things to say, and I thought what better than the three jar taster ($8)? La Lichee is planning to launch in Toronto soon. They have many different types of caramels that just sound delicious. The three jar taster has their top three flavours: butter caramel, fleur de sel caramel, and maple caramel. I’m hoping to drizzing this over ice cream in the near future!!
Cheese Maker
Another one that I saw at the spring show was Cheese Maker. At the time I was super intrigued, but held off just cause I had spent so much already. This time I went for it though! I LOVE mozza ($45) and thought this kit would be perfect to try making it myself! Cheese Maker has a few different kits to fit a cheese lover’s desires such as cheddar, feta, poutine, and even vegan cheese!! I’m not much of a chef, but the thought of fresh mozza will be a definite driving factor!
Make This Universe
I got a custom facial oil ($30) from Make This Universe which is just an incredible price! I was actually their very first custom facial oil of the show! The owner, Jessye was super nice and enthusiastic. I filled out a form describing what I was looking for in a facial oil and then she did the mixing. She explained everything she was putting in and why. The whole experience was so cool. I have a butt load of facial oils (planning on doing a post of them all), but I’m so glad I decided to do this. It was definitely a highlight of the show for me!

Alma Knitwear
One of my beauty blogger loves, Madeline, has been rocking the twist headbands lately. I want to be just like her so I picked up one myself from Alma Knitwear ($17)! I love the plush rose velvet! They had TONS of hats, scarves, and knit headbands. I can’t wait to start wearing this ASAP!
Craftedvan
Something I always pick up from the show are cards. There are always tons of card vendors at the show. I decided to go with Craftedvan this time around. It was $20 for 5 card. All were super punny so I was down. π It’s always good to have cards at the ready, I am definitely the person that is always scrambling for cards last minute!
Coal and Canary
Something I actually didn’t purchase, but was actually given in the media bag provided was this Coal and Canary candle in the perfect winter scent. It’s super sweetly scented with maple and vanilla. The closest one I could find on the website was Gimme Sugar (I didn’t see notes of maple in that one though). I tend to not burn candles as much as I used to with the cats, but this has a crackling wick which I’m dying to try!
Carli D
Last but not least wanted to send some love to my friend’s wife, Carli D who makes these beautiful resin coasters and paints. She wasn’t at the show the first time I went (she is in the 5/6 day area starting Nov 26). I plan to go give her some love when I go back to the show next! She’s at booth O24.
And there we have my haul (so far!) from the One of a Kind Winter 2019 show!! Thanks so much for reading! I hope you have a great day!
*Tickets provided free of charge. Everything purchased with my own money.
