Dr. Belmeur has been a fave since I first tried it a couple of years ago. At the time I was dealing with combo-oily skin. In the last couple of months I have noticed my skin has changed! My T-zone has been a lot less oily and I’ve been dealing with drier skin in general. I thought I would give my review/ comparison on the two different lines of Dr. Belmeur: Clarifying (oily/combo skin) and Daily Repair (for normal – dry skin).
Cleansers
The Clarifying one, the Bubble Foam Cleanser, is a fav cleanser for me. It comes in a pump top which dispenses a frothy bubble consistency. This cleanser really makes my skin feel clean without make it feel stripped. Definitely a fav in my collection.
Bubble Foam Cleanser – Foam Cleanser (pre-frothed)
On the other hand, the Daily Repair one, the Foam Cleanser, wasn’t as big of a hit for me. It comes out in a gel consistency that then froths up into a foam. I did feel that this had a more ‘moisturizing’ feel on the skin, but I noticed that this leaves a bit of a film on my skin. It’s almost like I wasn’t able to get all the cleanser off my face which was a bit annoying.
Even though I did feel a bit of relief from my dry facial skin with the Daily Repair Foam Cleanser, I would definitely recommend the Bubble Foam Cleanser. It doesn’t feel like it strips my skin when it’s especially dry, so this is definitely my choice.
Toners
Next up is toners. To tell you the truth I wasn’t really able to tell the difference between the two toners. I don’t know if it was just me trying to find differences but the Daily Repair toner seemed to leave my face a bit more soft? But not really anything of a difference at all.
If you’re looking for a toner in general though, I think both of these are pretty good options. They just remove that extra layer of ‘ick’ that can be left behind after you cleanse your skin. Definitely a refreshing feeling!
Cream
Last but not least is the creams! The Clarifying Moisturizer is a gel-like consistency and very light. It gives a refreshing feel to the skin without weighing it down. Definitely a great moisturizer for everyday use!
Cica Recovery Cream – Clarifying Moisturizer
The Cica Recovery Cream on the other hand has a balm-like consistency. During the harsh winter season I was using this a lot more because my face was getting a lot more flaky. I think this really helped maintain the moisture in my skin. I don’t think i’ll be using this in the summer months just because it’s a lot heavier. If you have issues with dry skin, I would definitely give this cream a go. It definitely provided me some relief!
For these two I think I would definitely pick based on your concern! Or even weather related skin feelings. The Clarifying Moisturizer is great as a light and refreshing pick me up, where as the Cica Recovery Cream if you need some relief of your dry skin!
I’ve been a fan of Dr. Belmeur for awhile and that love continues! If you want no-fuss skincare that makes you feel refreshed and clean, I would definitely recommend Dr. Belmeur!
