I was recently sent a whole wack of (relatively) new Almay products, and I’ve been playing with them for the last couple of days! Wanted to show you what was worth the money, and things that I wasn’t too thrilled with. The collection of these products definitely have a ‘festival’ vibe in my opinion, with metallics and glitters! I’m super excited to show you what’s what!
Almay Smokey Eye Trios
I got two to try, Coppery Blaze and Mulberry Moonlight. These are pretty typical drugstore palettes with a lid, crease and then brow bone highlight. All in all, the pigmentation wasn’t amazing. I like the colour selection and the depth of the palettes, but they just don’t deliver the colour payoff that I now expect from drugstore products. The colours I can mostly see myself using on a regular basis are the crease colours. I was able to get some pretty decent pigmentation off of those.

Almay Shadow Squad
Unfortunately another disappointment was the Almay Shadow Squad. I’m not sure if it was just just the colours I received, but I can’t see myself integrating these into my regular routine. Even if you usually go for the more ‘natural’ makeup look, these just don’t have the pigmentation to stand on their own. Even if you’re interested in these shades, I feel like these are the ones that are popped into palettes so you shouldn’t have any issues finding them.

Less is More
Velvet Foil Cream Eyeshadow
So to lighten the mood after those two disappointments, I have one where you need to run out to get ASAP. Cream eyeshadows are coming out from every major brand, but I have to say, the Almay ones really impressed me. The Velvet Foil Cream eyeshadows are in a cute little paint squeeze tube. The pigmentation on these is unreal and super shimmery. I really love the finish off of these. You have to let them dry all the way though cause they will transfer!
Cupid Glaze – Golden Vibes – Ruby Glam – Lunar Disco
Make Them Jelly
Next up is the Make Them Jelly highlighter. A cute concept, the highlighter is in a jelly-like consistency. Unfortunately, I don’t really love the execution of this. Since it’s such a true jelly consistency, it’s hard to really blend in without the product beading up. The colour is nice, but I also don’t really love the noticeable glitter. I would definitely say these product seems like a more ‘kiddy’ makeup product.
24k Dreams – Unicorn Light
Goddess Gloss
Last but not least is the Goddess Gloss. I’ve tried this in the past actually and really loved the finish and pigmentation. I love how you can wear it alone or as a topper. It’s not super sticky gloss either and I ‘m super happy to have more to add to my collection! Definitely would recommend these as well if you fancy any of the colours!
Fairy – Cosmic – Flame
Using some of these products I also created a look with the lot.
On my eyes I have the Velvet Foil in Cupids Glaze and the crease is the middle Coppery Blaze trio. Unicorn Light is the highlight on my cheeks and on the lips is Goddess Gloss in Fairy!
All in all, I would say that the Velvet Foils and the Goddess Gloss should be items you should be checking out!
Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
