It’s that time of year again!! The One of a Kind show is a twice-yearly held exhibition of all things handmade, local, and much more! This is my third show with the spring show last year being my first time. I managed to check out the show on the first day and was very grateful to be invited to the media breakfast! I have tons of pics from the show along with what I picked up!
This year’s spring show had the theme of fruit. The entrance is beautifully decorated with tons of items from the artisans who were vying to win the Exhibitor Competition. There were tons of really great items that fit the theme perfectly!
The Media Breakfast was held in the centre court with an incredible spread from Mira Mira. The display was incredible with a lot of variety. I really liked everything I tried.
After breakfast was complete, with Nancy from Freon Collective and Madeline from Classically Contemporary, we hit up the show. It was really nice to really shop and take my time. All the other times I’ve been it was so so busy so some booths I wasn’t able to check out as much as I would have liked! The aesthetic of the One of a Kind show is always so nice. They have ‘neighborhoods’ with different artisans grouped together by specialty (food, fashion, etc.). I’m very excited to show you what I picked up at the show!
The Heritage Bee Co.
The first booth we really got into was The Heritage Bee Co. Their booth was so brightly lit and the products displayed so nicely! We had a really nice conversation with the owners Jeff and Debbie. They described their hives and the products. You could really tell the passion they felt for beekeeping!
They very kindly gifted us their Seed Bombs. In the adorable bag, it’s a ‘throw and grow’ concept that contains bee-friendly wildflowers for your backyard or a planter! I can’t wait to put this in my new backyard! It’ll be our first plants!! The Heritage Bee Co. also hosts parties for corporate or other groups where they actually take you out to the field and show you all about the honey extraction process. Dream come true actually as I’ve been so curious about beekeeping. I can’t wait to look into their tours and parties!!
Crywolf
A booth that I frequent each time while at the show is Crywolf. I’ve purchased their iron on patches in the past and really love their cute graphics. This time I knew exactly what I wanted. I’ve been needing a mousepad for awhile and knew that Crywolf had some really nice ones. I ended up getting the Toronto Blue Jay Mousepad . Too cute eh? Perfect for my home office!
Together Ceramics
Together Ceramics is the combination of Catamola Ceramics and Greg Voisin Pottery. I’ve already purchased from Catamola in the past (a beautiful flat ceramic that I frequently use in flatlays). What pulled me in was the huge variety of mugs that were on display from Greg Voisin. There was just the CUTEST cat mug that I had to get. As a recent new cat momma, I was on the hunt for cute cat related items! Big plus is that it’s dishwaser and microwave safe!
Blazing Bombs
Hi Madeline!
Blazing Bombs had the cutest set up ever. They had these mini bath bombs on deal for 3 for $5 which I thought was a great price. The scents were absolutely intoxicating!! I had trouble picking just three. I can’t wait to try these. I have very high hopes with just how beautiful the scents smelled in the containers!! Bath time is in my future very soon!
Boundlove
Next up is Boundlove operated by Amelia (she was so nice to chat a bit with)! Pretty much every time I head to the One of a Kind show I need to pick up some sort of cute card stock. Her style instantly brought me in and I was hooked! I ended up getting a print (to use for flatlays) and greeting cards! I’m definitely looking into also getting a print of my new kitty Pebble! Her animal prints are unreal!
Uppdoo
Last but not least is the gift that was provided at the media breakfast. Uppdoo is a Toronto based leather, handbag and accessory designer. The coin purse that we were gifted is absolutely adorable! I love the little fringe at the zipper and vibrant spring colour! We stopped by their booth and the bags are so beautiful. If you’re looking for something unique and beautifully made I would definitely give them a visit!
And that’s everything that I picked up from the show! You still have time to check it out!! There’s one last day to the One of a Kind show, March 31st. It’s being held at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place. I love this show and I always find unique and beautifully crafted items!
Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
