I’ve been noticing that the drugstore has been picking up their game, and Hard Candy is no exception. I find there can be hits or misses with Hard Candy, but I wanted to share two really big hits! Hard Candy recently released two new 15 pan palettes. One leaning cool toned and one leaning warm toned. I can’t wait to show you swatches of these beauties!
Look Pro! Earthy Vixen
I’ll start off with the warm toned one, Earthy Vixen. I love the availability of the purples and cranberries, but also the difference in finishes. This palette has metallics, mattes and shimmers. You can very easily create a cohesive look with this palette. I also like that there is so much colour selection. I notice that some drugstore palettes play it really safe. They could have just used the left most side which would have been beautiful, but the yellow, greens, help to add another dimension.
As you can see from the swatches, the Earthy Vixen palette is really impressive. The pigmentation is totally awesome on these and I would highly recommend picking this up if you can. The price point is obviously one of the major pluses. You can find this at participating Walmarts for around $10! For 15 nice eyeshadows, that’s a steal!!
Look Pro! Don’t Dull My Shine
On to the cool toned palette, Don’t Dull My Shine. This one has so many fun colours and are all glittery. Again, super impressed with the quality for the price. I did notice on this one some the glitters were a little clumpy and chunky, but nothing all together terrible. I really like the brights in these that are something different in my collection.
The darker shades definitely performed a bit better than the lighter ones. I really don’t see a lot of drugstore brands doing palettes like these, so definitely give kudos to Hard Candy. So impressed with the quality and can see myself using these throughout the season!
