One thing that I feel like I’m always battling with is acne. I’ve mentioned in a couple of posts about my adult hormonal acne that doesn’t seem to want to leave! When I was sent the Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Acne line, I was curious about how it would work. I’ve used this now for around a month and was pleasantly impressed!
I’ll start out by saying I’ve used tea tree oil (not Thursday Plantation) in the past with not really any difference in my skin. With this said, I’ve heard such good thing about tea tree oil, so I was willing to give this line a chance. The entire line comes with 4 items:
- Step 1 – Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Wash Foam
- Step 2 – Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Toner
- Step 3 – Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Cream
- Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Medicated Gel For Acne
Starting with the face wash:
I really like this face wash actually. The foam is very thick and it definitely feels like you’re getting a deep clean. This did dry my skin out a bit, so I would say this is definitely recommended for oily skin folks. Even with this being said, I didn’t feel like my skin was completely stripped, and it felt smooth and clean.
Next up with the tea tree and which hazel toner. This I would say was my least favourite part of the line just because I found the toner very strong and my skin felt very dry. I ended up not using this every day that I was using the rest of the line and only used this in my very oily parts (t-zone). I think if you have very stubborn acne all over, this might be a good second step.
Next is the third step, the cream! I liked this cream, but didn’t love it. I found that it was a must anytime I used the toner. The cream feels very ‘medicated’ which is okay, but I didn’t love using it as much as other creams I have. It definitely brought the moisture back into my skin which is definitely required after using prior parts of the routine!
Finally, my favourite part of the items I got to try out is the spot treatment medicated gel. I love this as I feel a noticeable difference in my spots after one night. This really dries out spots which is crazy. With skincare, it can be hard to notice an actual difference, but I would definitely say my large cystic spots were made significantly better with this spot treatment.
All in all, I would say this line is definitely good for acne. For myself, hormonal acne is a bit hard to test as it just comes as is and it’s sort of hard to prevent. I found that this line kept my skin very clean though which I think helped the spots that I get occasionally otherwise. If there is one thing I would recommend it would be the medicated gel. The rest of the line is worth a try to help dry out very oily skin. If only I had this during my teenage acne heyday!
You can find Thursday Plantation on well.ca for pretty decent prices ($11-$16) which is very comparable to drugstore nowadays!
Thanks so much for reading! Hope you have an awesome day!
