First Impressions: FaceOff Makeup Removing Cloth

If you know my makeup habits, you’ll know that I consider myself a makeup wipe connoisseur. I try any and all makeup wipes and end up using them as the main way to take off my makeup. I definitely know that makeup wipes aren’t the most effective way to remove makeup, but my laziness always seems to take precedent. I’m also fully away that using a wipe a day to just be thrown in the garbage is pretty wasteful.

I was recently approached to try the FaceOff Makeup Removing Cloth. A microfiber cloth that is supposed to take off your makeup with just warm water?! Sign me up!

The FaceOff cloth has a similar concept to the Makeup Eraser which has been taking off lately. It’s  described as:

FaceOff is the new way to remove makeup, dirt and grime! The natural, soft and reusable cloth cleanses faces without the use of harsh chemicals and detergents, leaving skin feeling refreshed and exfoliated. The secret is in the unique weave of ultra thin microfibers, designed to gently lift impurities from the skin and remove even the toughest makeup or dirt. FaceOff is reusable and can be cleaned easily with soap and water.

So of course, I just had to put this to the test.

I had a pretty oily and greasy day spent in the sun with full makeup:

I decided to use the FaceOff to take off half of my makeup so you could see the difference:

And volia! What a huge difference. The FaceOff wipe took off all of my makeup with just water. It’s actually pretty amazing! My skin felt noticeable cleaner and smoother. There was no leftover makeup at all. I was wearing waterproof liner (my go-t0 Kat Von D Tattoo liner) so it was pretty impressive that the FaceOff was able to remove it!

The instructions ask that you use soap and water to clean the cloth. I didn’t really know what was meant by ‘soap’ (face soap, dish soap, hand soap) but ended up using liquid hand soap. Everything came out extremely easily EXCEPT for the liquid lipstick. The FaceOff did not mention the removal of lipstick (only face and eye makeup), so I really can’t fault it for the stains. And it did remove the lipstick!

All in all this is a pretty incredible product. It does it actually what it says it will, it’s easy to clean, and it’s reusable. The only thing is that if you don’t want stains left over, I wouldn’t recommend removing lipstick with it (not a huge issue at all though).

The FaceOff retails for around $13 (more affordable than the Makeup Eraser) and can be purchased through their website. I can’t comment on the purchasing processes as I received this product for review.

Thanks so much for reading! Have you tried any microfibre makeup removers? What are your thoughts?
