Review: Softlips 5 in 1 Lip Care

Hello again! I recently got selected for a new ChickAdvisor Product Review Club from Softlips. I actually used to use Softlips quite a bit before really getting into makeup, so for this reason, I was excited to try out two new lines and four new flavours

Luxe

The Luxe line is presented in in a similar tube to a lipstick with also a similarly shaped bullet. The two flavours I could try out were Creamy Coconut (purple tube) and Silky Shea (blue tube). In terms of effectiveness I would say they were alright. Nothing amazing, but at the same time not terrible either. I like the tube shape and the bullet as it made it very easy to apply. I have very very dry lips so I would need to apply this multiple times a day or my lips would start to flake.

Cube

Hmmm….I wonder what these little things were based on? Perhaps EOS? Just a wild guess there. 😉 As with EOS, I find that these cubes are easy to take on the go. They don’t fit as well in a makeup bag as the Luxe balms, but they’re still easy to throw in a purse. I also really like the clear design, as it makes them look like little ice cubes! The two flavours I got to try out were Berry Bliss (purple cube) and Fresh Mint (blue cube). I actually liked this a lot better in terms of formula than the Luxe line. I still found that I would have to reapply this balm throughout the day or my lips would shrivel up, but it felt a lot better on my lips.

For both lines, the favours were nice. Nothing too overwhelming, but still a sweet fragrance that made you enjoy using the balm.

All in all, I would say if you have very dry lips, these might not be best. But if you just want a cheap lip balm to throw into your bag, these are a good option!
